Welcome! This is the site for the Graduate Student Association (GSA) in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Cornell University.

The graduate students in EEB study a diverse range of taxa and subjects in evolution and ecology.  On this website, you will find information about our research, as well as the social and academic events that help us stay connected as a community. Please explore and come back as we publish new updates! We’ll keep you apprised of recent events, and spotlight a member of our community once a month.

EEB December Symposium & Holiday Party

The 47th annual EEB December Symposium is happening this week! On December 8th and 9th from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Corson-Mudd Hall will be hosting 37 different speakers from EEB and related departments; check out the schedule below for a list of speakers and their topics. What’s more, this year we have David Lodge, the Director of the Atkinson Center of Sustainability, as this year’s keynote speaker, along with a workshop on addressing sexual harassment in academic workplaces led by Laura Weiss from the Skorton Center on Thursday (edit: the workshop location will now take place at G01 Biotech) and a poster session on Friday. (Note: morning refreshments will be provided, lunch will not.) All talks will be taking place in the Morison room (A106), along with an online option (link here).

Also, come back again the day after for the annual EEB Holiday Party! The department holiday party will be held in the Corson-Mudd Atrium, running from 5 to 10 PM! Come in and enjoy potluck food & drink, a dessert competition, the first-year video, and of course, the company of your fellow co-workers.

If you have any questions, please email the EEB GSA – otherwise, we hope to see you there this Thursday, Friday, and Saturday!
